Thanks to millie for getting the info..I was too lazy. Sutton House was built in 1535 by Sir Ralph Sadleir and by the 1750s the building had been split to form two separate houses. Condemned as unsafe in the 20th century, the building underwent a programme of extensive refurbishment during which time some of the original stone fireplaces were exposed, a lot of the beautiful Tudor oak panelling was revealed, and a new barn extension was created at the back of the house. When the National Trust acquired the site in 1938, tenants once again occupied the house, renamed Sutton House in 1953. There are reports of poltergeist activity, prevalent at the property. Staff report sudden drops in temperature, doors of cabinets open on their own accord and objects including candles fly across rooms unaided. Wailing Dogs and ' The White Lady' have been heard and spotted at Sutton House.
