i read about this a few years a go and tried to find my books i had on it. (packed away somewhere) ive found a site which is quite good on mysteries etc of this sort, i will post it in the links section as it also covers lots of other stuff too. Anyone else read or know anything about this and the whicker effect the body is supposed to have..

I seem to recall that none of the experiences of SHC have remained as unexplained. It has been proven (proved? sp?) that even a normal house fire can be contained to a very small area and be amazinly hot for a few minutes then just die out which explains why you see the pictures of a completely burned body the the bottom part of the shin and foot in perfect condition.
Thinking about it, we are made up of around 75% water and the only thing about us which might be fuel for fire would be our hair. (so my arms would go up lovely but my head would be pretty much ok! Hee hee!). Even the nasty stuff, stomach acid, isn't flammable and only has a PH value of approximately 7. Our skin is PH 5.5 I think so stomach acid wouldn't add fuel to the fire, so to speak...
I did a school project on the Paranormal when I was in secondary school so got quite familiar with a lot of stuff like this and the explanations for it all...

Spontaneous human combustion is still unexplained due to people that have actually witnessed these types of events. even on themselves and lived.
Read this..
So what this is saying is,,,It is the fat on and in the body that gets rid of all the remains, bones inc,.
But still the scientific world can`t explain why this happens to people at all.
so it is Still an unexplained phenomenal matter to this day.
