Is the bible misleading people? Telling people not to question their exsistence. Telling people not to have anything to do with occult practices (btw, occult means hidden, and not something evil which is the stigmata surrounding the word). Telling people that the spirits contacting Mediums are really demons. Why should we trust in the bible? Is the bible wrote by men with their own agendas or is it truly the word of God? Maybe what the Bible says is all true. Maybe the Bible does'nt even say any of the above and I've been sucked in. Whatever, I'm really not a fan of the Bible.

Good post!!! Even tho it's made me think!!
When I was little my family were very religious, we'ld go to church every Sunday, no-one in my family ever swore etc... Anything to do with the paranormal was seriously taboo.
As I've grown up I've made my own decision about what I do and don't want to do and believe in.
I'm not a religious person but I do really believe there is more to this world than life as we know it, maybe there is a god maybe there isn't?
It is weird tho that my family have all moved away from being so religious??
hmm... think I've gone a bit off topic there!!
Part of me thinks it's a form of brain washing - don't get involved in things we don;t want you to.

Yeah makes sense, Pix. I was thinking while I was in the bath. What kind of a God would put living beings with feelings into a world where the only thing they are sure of is death. What kind of God would put living being with feelings into a world where pain both physical and mental is a part of everyday exsistence.
I was thinking of gatecrashing the local church and shouting out exactly what I think which would get me ex-communicated or something like that. Where was God when the Clergys wife died of cancer? Where was God when the clergy took cancer? The surgeons saved him by removing it. Not God?
There was a programme. A theologist traced the Bible right back to the beginning. He wanted to know who really wrote the Bible. Apparently Moses didnt right the Old Testament. It was the work of many hands. The Gosples where not even eye-witness accounts of Jesus, but written decades after his death by people with their own view to get across.
Pixie I think there may be something when we die. But I don't think that we have any comprehension really of what it is or what its like.
I think Christianity and Religions can create psychosis and mess up peoples minds.
I just wish I knew what the whole thing was about. As I'm sure, most people do.

I'm not sure how genuine the bible is or where it came from.
But I think it tries to teach people like a parent teaches a child. When we are little we are told you can't do that til your older etc. Well, I think the bible is a bit like that. It tries to keep you from doing things. As if to shelter your innocence and keep you cocooned in a world which is made up of how 'God' wants it to be.

im not really religious. ive never actually read the bible from beginning to end so i dont have much idea whats in it except that God created the earth in 7 days which is impressive and he created adam and eve and stuck them in the garden of eden and i know about the 10 commandments and all that with charlton heston on a mountain and the parting of the sea and the ark. i really dont know what to believe though. i suppose some parts might be true and other parts may be made up or exaggerated . it may all be true, it may all be made up i havent the feintest idea.

The Bible is what people hope it can be....what i mean is this,,,one person may think that the Bible will give them courage, while another person looks at it for advice in there life, either way its just a book, that has killed more people than any illness...due to the wars over religion.......All done in a gods name.....?
Thats my opinion on the bible, a book thats caused many deaths for no reason....

We should always question our own existence... to learn, to understand. The bible is a product of man’s imagination... that doesn’t mean it is not a good book, or that we can't learn from it. It has much wisdom, good teachings and we should take the good bits to guide us on our journeys.

Ive never read The Bible on the basis that I couldnt care less about religion. Seems to be a popular book, cant see whats so good about it myself.

...or is it just a really good STORY?
I don't wish to upset anybody so I want to clearly state now that this is just my opinion. At the end of the day religion is a cover for money. After all it's money that makes the world go around. Was The Bible written by first hand accounts? Did someone come up with the story to enhance the popularity of the church?
If you have the money in the first place you can afford to drop history altering evidence into the whole scheme of things.
I think I've over rambled.

Yep. A book, which may be a good read for some, and not for others.
