Have you ever been in a deep sleep when suddenly you are woken abruptly feeling a sense of terror? You feel an evil presence in the bedroom and you may even have seen a strange shadow in the room. possibly stooping over you. Your body is unable to move and you cry out in terror, but no matter how hard you try you just cant scream, you are literally chocking on your words Have any of experienced any or all of these sensations?
Do you think they a paranormal or are they just conditions of sleep?
What do you think?

ive never had that, but i once woke up and saw a devils head (just the head) laughing at me about 15 feet away. i was watching it for about 10 seconds and then it vanished. i suppose i must have ben dreaming it whilst awake if thats possible but ive never done that before or since. ive never understood what causes sleep paralysis

I have had sleep paraylisis but did not see any evil spirits ect. I saw my best male friend...hang on..he is an evil spirit...anyway...he was standing at the bottom of my bed just looking at me and I struggled to tell him to go away.
I was petrified as I could not move.

LOL @ CAM. You can dream about anyone when you have sleep paralysis cam. You will be amazed at the amount of people who suffer from it. Thats why i don't think it's anything paranormal. Just a condition of sleep.

I agree its not a paranormal thing.
I have had the sensation of someone sitting on my bed which sceptics say is a dream just as I was falling asleep but I really cant see it since I had only just got in and I never go to sleep for the first 20 minutes after getting into bed.
I wonder if I was having a lucid dream then.

I have the sensation of someone sitting on my bed whenever I sleep at my Mum & Dads house in my old bedroom on my own. I don't think it is a form of sleep paralysis because I only get it in that one house and have never experienced anything else similar to it at another place. I do love the whole dream intrepretation thing tho.. although don't take it seriously as on many website and in different books they offer different explainations!

Whenever i remember a dream it always starts at the same place, an old celtic stone circle near my old primary school, dont know why but always does The floating dream cam? is that the one where you close your eyes and feel as if you are on a rollercoaster? similar to when you were younger you would have a few beers and as soon as your head hit the pillow the room would start spinning?

@ nellyp. Interesting about the start of your dreams though. I agree with pixi and love dream interpretation, the more outrageous the better! doesn't do to take these things too seriously ;D Funny how you remember some dreams really clearly for years and years though. I've always had lots of really vivid dreams. I remember one from when I was about six (many years ago!) We were in a huge, delapitated mansion; all dusty and full of cobwebs. My brother, sister and I were all running away from an evil old woman. We ran and ran till we came to the top of a magnificent, sweeping staircase and could see our way out through the from door across the hall below. But as we began to run down the steps, the staircase began to lift from the bottom and there was a monster coming up some stairs from a cellar down below (just like in the Munsters, but this was some years before the program)! I was in the lead and could not stop in time and fell off the end of the stairs and was falling down and down, towards the jaws of the monster! Boy did I scream, as I seemed to be falling and falling forever .......... until I was battered awake by my loving sister, with whom I shared a bed! I had fallen out of bed and was trapped in the sheets which were tucked under the mattress, and of course my struggles had pulled the covers off my sister - who was not happy! In fact, the monster under the stairs would probably have been more sympathetic!

Similar nelly but I can move around at will. I love it..much better than a drink induced float. Blimey misty...what a nightmare you used to have.

If you haven't already noticed it, there is an 'Old Hag' article on the website under the 'Archives' section.
