There are probably still parts of the vorm that haven't been removed and they hide n crafty places like the computers registry get missed by virus checkers then start to grow again so all you end up doing is deleting the same parts of them but not the "brain" if you like. Make sure all your anti virus doo-dar stuff is completely up to date and if that doesn't help then try some type of registry cleaner. There are loads of freeware one's so have a hunt around. The anti virus programs you already have may have a registry cleaning tool on it so check that first...
Hope this helps.

Also if your using XP,,,turn off the system restore as that can place them back..even tho you think they are gone..they will still be in there,,,,so turn it off then do a check, then delete the viruses, when you know 100% that the PC is clean thats when you turn system restore back on and make a restore point.. hope that helps too.

I set all my anti virus stuff and fluff to run during the night while I'm sleeping as I don't tend to turn the machines off. (most damage occures in the turning off and on stages of ANY machine! ) so I set it for times when I'm not likely to be utilising the computer..

I know damage can be caused by turning off and turning on again but I was lead to believe it was more a problem if there is a virus installed. Computers definitely need to be rebooted now and then to ensure the background processes are kept in check. They cause the pc to run slowly and crash, given time.

Awwww for the tiger pic...tiger.. I took my background pic off but my son and daughter still have theirs. I still have the worm..... Did everything but when I run ad-aware my norton tells me It has automatically deleted this worm. The new microsoft spyware does not pick it up.

DM...Thanks.I have spyware which runs automatically every other night. JDS,I always turn off my pc when I am not using it. *(most damage occures in the turning off and on stages of ANY machine! ) * How so.? Am worried now. Think of what would happen if you went from being asleep to sprinting, climbing, cycling etc in less than 1 minute. You'd be knackered and pull loads of muscles and damage joints and ligaments etc. Simliar thing happens with any machine when you turn it on. It goes from nothing to full speed ahead as quick as it can. Thats why we have flashy oil for engines so the pistons stay coated with lubricating oil for longer so they don't have to wait for the oil to get there and warm up before the engine can start. Your computer probably has an Idle or Hibernate option which you may want to consider. Also, if it is an actual switch that you use to turn it off/on then evenutally the switch will wear out. switches are normally the first thing that goes.

Ohh, there's a switch is there?! So, the kick to the side of the square box thingy then isn't the correct way to get it going? ~makes mental note to go and read manual~

If you still have the worm, try downloading Avast anti virus software.
It's free (yayyy!) but a pain in the butt. I have got the programme on my pc, but only install it when I have a problem - then I uninstall it again.
It's very effective but clashes with other programmes, hence only installing it when I've got a problem!
