Without a telescope it just looks like a normal star but a bit bigger and brighter, but with a telescope it might be more interesting.
Yeah if he knows about stars and that, he will probably know.

It will rain now. Not sure where abouts it will be in the sky for you, but I saw it the other week so it should still be out. You will know it when you see it. And if you look it up, cos I can't remember, on the internet, it will tell you about the closest galaxy to us, you can see it with the naked eye and even better with a telescope. I'm yet to find it, but I won't give up!

I haven't looked outside tonight, its definately going to be way too cloudy over here. When I used to phone my ex during the night, I could hear the bladdy helicopter that was outside, above her house (she was inside) on the other end of the phone, really loud!

The helicopter sounds like its over my house but its probably nearer the town. I can hear it most nights. As I am in the garden a lot they once stopped and looked at me.... I scuttled straight back in.

Just seen on the news, they have found a new planet, very similar to earth but smaller and heavier and has temperatures that mean it could have water at a liquid state, its sun, which is a red dwarf is exactly the right distance away from it. So it might life. Its all very exiting, but I don't understand why they are all so surprised. I'll try and find a link for it.

What annoys me is they assume that for ANY life to exist the planet must have water....erm..maybe not. For all we know there just might be species out there who dont require water. Is exciting about this find though. My ex said..all stars are suns. He said he thinks we can see mars okay but not sure about venus.

All stars are suns, but not all stars have planets, but alot of them do.
Mars is like a red dot in the sky apparently, only seen it once or twice, I can see Venus most nights though, if its not cloudy.
Because all life on earth needs water to survive, after all we are 80% water, if the planet is like earth, as they say and this planet holds water, the other one should be able to, so I'm guessing the life on the other planet, if there is any, must need water to survive. Unless there are other forms of life, nothing like us that don't need water, but then again what would they need, if not water?

We do but then we are just a tiny glitch in the universe. So much more for us to learn. Humans are so arrogant that we assume that everything must be like us. I hope if there is life out there they are nothing like us..we are a huge mistake.

Speak for yourself!
I only know that we need water to survive, and that on other planets where there is no water, there is no life whatsoever, and maybe your right, I hope you are, that somewhere out there is another form of life that does not need water and that is totally different from us. They must know what they are looking for though, otherwise they wouldn't have found this planet in the first place, still its early days and we will have to wait and see what becomes of it.
I don't think that everything is like us and I hope it isn't! But I don't think I'm a mistake, I think America is a mistake.

I agree that the likelyhood of any life surviving without water is very slim but we never know. I believe the whole human race to be a huge mistake. Why else would we be so unbelievably cruel to each other otherwise. If there are aliens out there they can come and take me away any day.

Its only what we know, so its all we can look for atm, we can't look for what we don't know.... if you know what I mean. Not the whole human race, there are plenty of people out there who are not mistakes and I know a few of them. And I like to think I'm not a mistake. Well no aliens are taking me away, who knows what they might do. Its all very nice imagining that we are the evil ones and the aliens are cute little happy things with no harmful intentions, but really we haven't got a clue, therefore, I don't want to be taken away.

I agree that most normal everyday people are fine but the basic make up of humans is flawed imo. Also true that any aliens might be more cruel than we are. The state of this crappy world today though makes me think I might take the chance.

I think if we focused on the positive rather than the negative side of life, more people would be much happier and less miserable.
There are people out there far worse off than us, there are people that don't even have clean water, never mind being able to moan about the rest of the world - they don't know!
If Aliens exist, does that mean to the Aliens, we are Aliens also?

I wholeheartedly agree but its no good just the normal populace being positive, the governments have to be as well. Also true but why should we not complain about the state of the world. Its a total mess and we are helpless. We cant do a thing about it. If there are other life forms out there then yes,we would be aliens to them or whatever word they might use.

Yeah that is true, but it will never happen - the government thing.
I just think, we should think more positively about things in our day to day lives more often.
I bet to Aliens, we are aliens. I wonder if that somewhere there is another human race...

No government cares enough about its people. I agree that a positive personal outlook is very important in life or we would all crumble. There could well be other humanoids out there.Wish we knew for sure.
