But i do know after a web chat with the writers of the show last month, there is a huge shock instore. Someone in the camp is the mysterious leader of the others. Bet you cant work it out? Go on, you know you want too?

I can't wait for next week's episode after watching the latest one. I know its only been 2 episodes but I think they're definitely making up for the poor second season with what I've seen so far.

I thought he was going to shock Kate as it was her who would no do the work. Poor Jack I wonder what they will do to him. What about the statue of the foot with four toes at the end of season two? And why do all the people on the island seam to have known each other before hand or at least met? What about the Black smoke? I need to know. What about the hatches and the french chick and her daughter?

The activities of The Others immediately prior to the crash of Oceanic Flight 815 are revealed, as they are shown to have been living in modern suburban houses in a previously unseen section of the island. Their leader appears to be Henry Gale, whose real name is Benjamin "Ben" Linus. He claims to have lived on the island for his entire life, but he does have an awareness of the outside world, since he can receive American television broadcasts.
Kate, Jack, and Sawyer are imprisoned separately, in and around another DHARMA Initiative station, the Hydra. Ben tells Kate the next two weeks are going to be "very unpleasant", Jack is kept in a cell where he is interrogated by Juliet. Sawyer is kept in a cage with a mechanical puzzle which dispenses fish biscuits and water, only to be let out to do manual labor with Kate. The Others steal Desmond's sailboat.

Who were all the others doing the labour too? It didn't seem that Kate or Sawyer recognised any of them.

yes, that was weird. But then it is a weird show. I'm still trying to work out How Libby met Desmond at the airport to give him the boat. And was in the same institution as Hurley?

The stations
Five stations have been seen by viewers so far. The names of two of these, the Swan and the Pearl, are given by DHARMA orientation films. The location and name of the Swan can also be found on the map featured in "Lockdown". The location of the Pearl is given by the map without naming it: a dotted circle with a "?" in it, surrounded by the other stations. The names and locations of two others, the Arrow and the Staff, can be found in the map. The Hydra is the fifth station seen by viewers but is not identified by name on the map. A sixth station, the Flame, is named on the map but has not yet been seen.

Purpose of the station The orientation film The Swan, featuring the station's DHARMA logoThe original purpose of The Swan was to be a sort of laboratory for DHARMA's research on electromagnetism. According to Marvin Candle, The Swan was conducting its initial experiments when the aforementioned "incident" occurred. When questioned about the incident, Kelvin describes the material behind the wall as "electromagnetism, geologically unique". The incident mentioned in the orientation film caused a leak, which necessitates the release of built-up charge every 108 minutes. The aftermath resulted in the regular button-pushing procedure.
Although the events in "Live Together, Die Alone" showed that the Swan had some purpose beyond that of a psychological experiment, it is still very enigmatic. It is unclear which parts (if any) of the station survived Desmond's activation of the fail-safe device, although it has been revealed by executive producer Carlton Cuse in a interview that John will be in season three of the series, yet any info on the condition of Eko has not been told. However, Eko is featured on the teaser poster for Season 3 along with Locke and Desmond. Also untold is the specific purpose of the station and the reason for not automating the discharge cycle.

season 3 episode 3 Every Man for Himself
The fates of Locke, Eko and Desmond are revealed after the implosion of the hatch, while Hurley returns to the beach camp to tell the tale of what happened when he, Jack, Kate and Sawyer encountered "The Others".
Upon awakening in the jungle, Locke discovers that he cannot speak. He makes his way back to the survivor camp, where he begins to build a "sweat lodge". With Charlie standing guard, Locke takes a hallucinogenic drug and enters the lodge to seek spiritual guidance from the island. As John hallucinates, Boone appears as his spiritual guide and tells Locke that someone in the vision (in which island inhabitants are seen in various roles at the Sydney airport) requires his help. Locke learns that he must "clean up his own mess" and understands that he must rescue Eko. Locke emerges from the tent with his ability to speak regained.
Locke and Charlie track Eko to a polar bear's den. Along the way, they meet up with Hurley, who reveals that Jack, Kate, and Sawyer were kidnapped by the Others, and that the prisoner they knew as "Henry Gale" is "like their leader."
Hurley continues back to the Survivor camp where he encounters a naked Desmond. After lending Desmond a large tie-dyed t-shirt, the two continue trekking back to camp. Along the way, Desmond reveals that the electromagnetic anomaly may have been destroyed during the hatch implosion, though Hurley questions why Desmond himself was not destroyed. Desmond inadvertently reveals to Hurley that he has seen into the future when he discusses a speech that John Locke has yet to give.
Locke rescues Eko from the polar bear by building a makeshift flame-thrower from a torch and a can of hair spray. On the trip back, while Charlie fetches water from a stream, a repentant Locke apologizes to an unconscious Eko for his lack of faith. Eko appears to awaken briefly to tell him that he must rescue Jack, Kate and Sawyer, but this is revealed to may have been another hallucination. Upon returning to camp, Locke tells the survivors that he plans to rescue their friends.
In flashbacks, Locke is revealed to have joined a commune. He is treated very well there and considers its members his new family. One day Locke picks up a young man named Eddie who is hitchhiking. Eddie joins the commune as well, but six weeks pass and he is never allowed to know what is going on in a certain greenhouse (into which he sees an exceptional amount of fertilizer going). Eddie expresses his discontent with being kept out of the secret and affirms to Locke his desire to be "in" on "whatever you guys are trying to blow up." Locke laughs at this and says he'll talk the commune leaders Mike and Jan. Upon entering the secret greenhouse (which is revealed to be a marijuana growing operation), Locke finds Mike and Jan in the midst a frantic preparation to flee. They blame Locke for bringing Eddie there, who they've discovered is actually an undercover police officer going deep cover, gathering evidence on the illegal activities of the commune. Locke promises to "fix this." He takes Eddie hunting out in the forest, but turns his rifle on him. Eddie admits that he is indeed a cop, and that the police chose Locke to dupe because "the psych profile said you'd be amenable for coercion." Eddie walks away, knowing that Locke will not shoot him because he is "a good person." Locke attempts to shoot Eddie as he leaves, but cannot bring himself to do so.
